If you listened to the first episode of the podcast, you’ve heard Ben Gibbard’s side of the story about playing a concert for MTV back in 2005. Every word was accurate. But I thought I’d tell you my side. Hi, I’m Courtney E. Smith, one of the executive producers of the podcast, and I used to work at MTV. And back then, I was working with Death Cab. I’m the person who asked them to perform. Well, actually my boss’s boss told me to extend the invitation. I’ve never really told the story from my point of view, except to people I worked with and the band.
